Meadow Wood Recreation Club

The Meadow Wood Recreation Club, often refereed to simply as “the pool,” offers a private, heated pool with an 84,000-gallon capacity, perfect for lap swimming and relaxation.  Membership extends to residents and their guests, ensuring a secure and enjoyable environment.  The club offers convenient facilities like a bathhouses and showers.  Later pool hours are available for working families, and adult-only swim lanes are offered upon request (excluding weekends).

Pool Hours

  • The pool is open from approximately Memorial Day through Labor Day
  • Monday-Thursday: 1:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Friday-Sunday: 1:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Hours are subject to change based on lifeguard availability and weather – members will receive email notification if pool hours are changing

Pool Rules and Regulations

PLEASE NOTE: THE LIFEGUARD HAS FINAL SAY REGARDING THE ENFORCEMENT OF RULES WRITTEN OR IMPLIED

  1. When entering the pool area, each member must register his/her name on the registration sheet.
  2. A guest must be accompanied by a member and must register after the member’s name.
  3. Guest Fee’s are $3.00 per day. Children under 2 are free. Guest fees will be waived for any children, grandchildren, and grandparent of members, except as excluded by rule 4. If guest does not swim, do not register them as a guest, no fee will be due if applicable.
  4. Residents of Meadow Wood who are not members are not permitted as guest.
  5. Guest Pass for “live-in” house guest available upon application to Mark Parker.
  6. All applicable guest fees will be billed by the Recreation Club Treasurer. No money is to be paid to the pool staff
  7. Water Aerobics are for pool members only.
  8. The Recreation Club cannot accept responsibility for valuables.
  9. No one is permitted on the pool unless a lifeguard is on duty within the pool area. Any use of the pool at times other than regularly scheduled hours is expressly forbidden. Any person reported inside the fence when the gate is closed and locked will be denied all privileges of the club not less then 2 weeks and will be subject to such further disciplinary action as the Board considers appropriate.
  10. No one may be in the pool beyond the shallow end unless he/she is able to pass the following test: Swim 2 lengths of the pool without stopping. Note: the guard may require anyone to demonstrate this ability at any time.
  11. There is to be NO DIVING into the pool where “NO DIVING” signs are painted on the deck surface.
  12. Members should respect the “Lap Swimming Lane” when it is in operation. Failure to observe this rule will be grounds for removal from the pool.
  13. All injuries must be reported to the Lifeguard immediately.
  14. Persons suffering from communicable illnesses, skin diseases, sores or fungus infections, etc. are prohibited from using he pool.
  15. No pets are allowed within the fenced in pool area.
  16. All balls used in the pool must be the soft inflatable type.
  17. Suntan lotions are limited to non-oily or non greasy types. Others will not clear the filtration system.
  18. No one except the lifeguard is allowed in the lifeguard seat.
  19. All children under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible person.
  20. No food is allowed inside the fence at any time except designated eating area.
  21. No smoking/vaping inside the fence.
  22. No glass containers of any kind may be brought into the pool or bathhouse. Other containers that may be hazardous may be excluded by the lifeguard.
  23. There will be a 10 minute rest period each hour, during which all children must be out of the pool to rest. Only persons 18 years and older may use the pool during rest period. The lifeguard may at his/her discretion may occasionally increase this period of time.
  24. No boisterous, rough play in or out of the pool, running, pushing, profane language will not tolerated. The lifeguard has the authority to deny anyone the use of the pool who does not abide by the rules.
  25. The pool will be closed during electrical storms and when the air temperature is below 65 degrees.
  26. The lifeguard is responsible for the safety of the persons using the pool and has the authority to deny anyone the use of the pool that does not cooperate.
  27. The cooperation of every member is solicited in identifying any individuals who may have participated in acts of willful destruction of pool property.
  28. Any suggestions or comments regarding the operations of disciplinary measures concerning the pool should be submitted to Board of Trustees, not to the lifeguard.
  29. Unauthorized people are not permitted in the pump room as a safety precaution.
  30. Members will mark lounge chairs with their name and should advise their children to respect other members’ property.
  31. Upper parking lot is for pool staff and handicapped parking only.
